Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia are easily accessible by air, with a lot of direct and indirect flights from all over the world.
The region is served by the Airport Francisco Sá Carneiro (Porto), a small but modern airport.
From there, the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia can be reached via metro (recommended, Line E, Purple Line, to Trindade. If you want to go to Vila Nova de Gaia you should take Line D, Yellow Line, in Trindade - see www.metrodoporto.pt where you can find PDF of timetables and map system, as well as other information in English), airport shuttle; taxi, uber and bus (please consider transfer times between the airport and Porto/Vila Nova de Gaia 60 minutes).
Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia are also easily accessible by car. The two cities are served by modern highways: A1 from the south (Lisbon); A28, A3 and A4 from the North of Spain (Galicia); A5-A1 from east (Spain - Madrid) (see www.viamichelin.com). The region is also well connected by train network www.cp.pt , Viajar em Portugal).

Important notice: On Wednesday, 15th June, 9:00, there will be a shuttle service from a meeting point in Vila Nova de Gaia city Centre (metro station João de Deus, near El Corte Ingles) to the conference room. Please find at the symposium programme the time schedule to the other shuttle services.
